I just bought one and my eyes became extremely irritated. Not to mention, I came home and my poor dogs face and eyes were incredibly swollen. Within an hour of opening it, I developed a sore, irritated throat. The next day, the irritation moved down into my lungs. The symptoms definitely felt sort of cold-like, but after 24 hours, I remembered the diffuser and got it out of the house immediately. The next morning, I had full-blown asthma, and I was coughing up perfume-flavored gunk. My lungs are still pretty irritated, and I am certain that this is not a cold - this same thing happened once before when I opened a cheap candle from Wal Mart and had the same reaction. The first reaction was not as severe as this one. So, I'm going to stick with good, old-fashioned hippie incense because it has never been irritating and has a lasting scent. I like my house to smell nice, but as a personal trainer who works out every day, it's just not worth damaging my lungs over.
